Bus, the most popular means of transport. 2. In computer language, a &#8220;bus&#8221; is a data bus that coordinates the submodules of the computer and thus its basic functions. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Art<\/strong> = <em>art<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Busart is all of these! An avenue of culture where artists meet cities and communities meet artistic creation. A channel of interconnection between these four elements, structural components of any cultural initiative that aspires to operate with a perspective of sustainable development.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The basic principle that governs all our actions is the <\/span><b>Cultural Democracy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the reconstitution of cultural capital, in which no marginalized and displaced voice is silenced.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What we do<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We invest in <\/span><b>Artistic Citizenship<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and<\/span><b> Social Art<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (artistic citizenship &amp; art of sociability) as well as in <\/span><b>Aesthetics of Care <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to empower artists and communities. <\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We believe in the <\/span><b>Poetics<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the capacity of art to poeticize and transform the world, positively transforming the cities and communities that give them life. <\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We operate on the basis of <\/span><b>Glocal (Interlocal) <\/b> <\/p>\n<p> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">character of contemporary reality, the interweaving of the planetary with the local. By extension, we are committed and dedicated to the inherent potential of small and medium-sized cities to evolve from small dots on the geographical map into international centres of cultural development. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2>How we do it<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since its establishment in 2009, Busart has been systematically active in the fields of empowerment, curation and production of large-scale projects (European Capital of Culture), internationalisation and networking, as well as curation and artistic production in the fields of contemporary performing and visual arts through artistic projects, festivals and collaborations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a member of important European and international networks in the field, including the International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts IETM and the International Network for the Mobility of Artists On the Move.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_section full_width=&#8221;stretch_row_content&#8221; parallax=&#8221;vcex_parallax&#8221; parallax_image=&#8221;165&#8243; min_height=&#8221;600&#8243;][vc_row][vc_column][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_section css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1703317348331{padding-top: 80px !important;padding-bottom: 50px !important;}&#8221;][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Background  <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Between 2009 and 2011 Busart planned and implemented structured information and networking visits to important international events such as the Festival of Avignon (France, 2009-2010) and Fira Tarrega (Spain, 2011) as well as seminars on empowerment and interface with the European scene. The programmes were aimed at artists and cultural professionals <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2013 he organized for the first time in Greece the IETM Athens, i.e. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plenary Meeting <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts IETM, bringing together more than 500 programmers and artists from abroad in Athens.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the period 2014-2016 Busart designed and edited the two candidacy files of Elefsina, which unanimously awarded the city the title of European Capital of Culture 2021.  <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2022 and 2023 he designed, edited and implemented the respective editions of the international <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Culture 2030 Conference <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the context of the 2023 Elefsina European Capital of Culture.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2023 he designed, curated and implemented the capacity building programme<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Capital Connections<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> giving 20 artists the opportunity to receive one-year mentoring in the areas of interface with the European scene in collaboration with Kelly Diapoulis and On the Move, and dramaturgy in collaboration with Alexandros Mistriotis.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2022 he conducted research in the performing arts <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pigeon is in fashion this year<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> engaging through oral history the community of dressmakers of Peristeri<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2023 he curated and organized the group art exhibition <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mystery I&#8217;<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> giving the platform to 14 students of the School of Fine Arts to present works, the fruit of years of research in the city of Elefsina, incorporating the view of a new generation of creators in the aesthetic contemporary narrative of the city. <\/span> <\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the end of 2023 the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ready Steady Go!<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a 10-month training\/travel programme for 14 artists and cultural professionals from the Mediterranean<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in collaboration with the organisations <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cimettafund.org\/en\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roberto Cimetta Fund<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.livingnet.eu\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Liv.in.g (IT)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/al-badil.net\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Al Badil (TU)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and Amuni (FR).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_section full_width=&#8221;stretch_row&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1703317341746{padding-top: 50px !important;padding-bottom: 80px !important;background-color: #d13080 !important;}&#8221;][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text color=&#8221;on-accent&#8221;]<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Who we are<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The two main contributors of Busart, Kelly Diapouli and Giorgos Skianis are curators, who live and work between Elefsina and Larnaca.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kelly Diapouli from 2016 to 2020 took over the artistic direction of Elefsina 2021 European Capital of Culture (later 2023 ELEYSIS European Capital of Culture) and from 2022 to date she is the artistic director of Larnaca 2030 European Capital of Culture &#8211; Candidate City.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From 2004 to 2017, George Skianis was in charge of the art installations in the context of the Aeschylus Festival, organized by the Municipality of Elefsina.
